Vancouver part 2

He said YES!!!!!!!!!!! Big apology to my devoted readers as I had to take this post offline for a bit because it needed some corrections, and I have been a little busy too! Anyway, here it is again! My dad finally said yes! After all my arguments, telling him that it would be so much better for both if I went to Vancouver, that he only needed to take one plane, a direct flight, only 5 hrs away....  and that it ran twice a week, just in case!... he finally said yes, you can go! I was the happiest person ever!!!!!! not only I had dodged the idea of going to Switzerland with nuns but also I managed to get my way and go to Vancouver! After one long year of prepping and getting the student visa and what have you, I was very happy to actually be able to SHOUT..... I was leaving the crystal bubble (my lifestyle back then) and I was about to begin a new journey, the journey of life! I was only 16 when I moved to Vancouver, the idea was, for me to go to ES...

Vancouver part 1

It does not look like this anymore but this is the pic that stayed in my mind! O Canada! Our home and native land! True patriot love in all thy sons command!......... I could not think of a better way to start this blog! I was asked by one of my very lovely sisters to share my experience with Canada the first time I moved there. The first time I went to Vancouver was with my dad Summer of 1992, to be honest I didn't even know the place existed as such aside from knowing where it was on the map, back then it had no bearing on me whatsoever. Every year my dad and I took holidays somewhere, it would usually be after July because as an accountant he was required at his firm to sign all the tax documents for the annual closure for his clients.  We would always go to Orlando, at least once a year usually around Christmas, (my Dad and I) our favourite place, we would be there for at least a week and then we would have a longer holiday for Summer. My dad loved going to S...

Adopted?! How did I find out?!

All my beautiful places include also the unseen, the heart! * Most of you know this about me, some of you don't know I actually know and think you are keeping a great secret and the rest probably don't even care. Some wonder how did it happen? How come did I find out? Why then? Who told me "the truth"?  I am not ashamed to share it with the world because I truly feel blessed and I would love to help people understand and realize that adopting a child should come from the heart, its love in its purest form and truly there is nothing wrong. If its your case, give yourself the chance to open up to the possibility of giving somebody that was not wanted/liked/needed by their own blood a chance to have a decent home with you. It could be "your chance" to make the difference to change somebody's life and transform it into what life should be about, selfless love and caring. Look at me, I am where I am because unselfish people decided to give...

8 months!

Taken the following day after our arrival. It seems like yesterday and not at the same time, its been eight months since we arrived, "ready" to face a new life full of changes, laughter, family gatherings and most important safety and education to give us a peace of mind as individuals and also as a family. We have been through a lot in these past 8 months, that is why I said it seems like yesterday but not. Starting with the fact that our passports were stolen in the flight on our way in, that was a bit of a nightmare, yet we always seem to find our angels here and there to help us out, so thank you to all of you that helped. Long story short, after a few months, passports did appear in a hotel in Germany, nowhere near where we had been.  Oh well, even from that something good came out, now I know that one should always have another piece of ID hidden somewhere else and all documents scanned in a USB stick. We did learn a lot about ourselves, our f...

Lets give this blogger a test run!

I have been giving it a lot of thought about starting a blog or not and I have decided to do it. A few days back I was asked by a friend to help her "pimp" her own blog which actually helped me decide, so thank you Viv. I am very fond of reading, sometimes I do not have the time or energy to do it but at least I try to read something every night before going to bed. I do follow blogs from friends and even from people that I have not yet met but their way of writing its inspiring.  I do have a lot to share, being able to live in different countries has been handy in life; Some of my friends might actually learn a thing or two about me yet it is mainly for my son.  So, it would be more like a diary including past and present experiences. If my post starts with (*) its because that specific post belongs to me, its a past experience that I am sharing yet I since I am a dreamer, I have the dream that one day my life will be published in a book or a movie so...
